CLASSICS AND GRAND PRIX
ARE DOUBLE POINTS
MODEL CLASSES ARE HALF POINTS

  • The MTHJA membership year begins December 1 and ends November 30. Points for year-end HIgh Score Awards will be awarded by the Associaton to equitation riders and horses and ponies owned by individuals or entities who have paid MTHJA memberships. Points are not awarded retroactively. No credit shall be given for any points earned prior to becoming a member each year.
  • Horse recordings are not required.  In order for a horse or pony to be eligible for HIgh Score Awards, at least one owner must have a current MTHJA membership. In the event of transfer of ownership of a horse or pony, the MTHJA Points Secretary must be notified immediatley in writing of such transfer, and the new owner must be a paid MTHJA member in order for point tabulation to continue.
  •  In Hunter and Jumper divisions, it is the horse/pony that accumulates points.  Membership is required for the owner or lessee of all horses to be eligible for points toward year-end awards.
  • In Equitation divisions, it is the rider who accumulates points . Membership is required for the rider only to be eligible for annual awards.
  • The MTHJA will recognize like-named divisions from other horse show associations where the jump heights do not differ by more than 3".
  •  No points will be counted in a class if fewer than three entries have shown and placed. In order to maintian points and ribbons won in Under Saddle classes, a horse or pony must complete at least one class over fences in the division (with the exception of Young Hunter).
  • In order for points to count, the horse must be entered and shown under the name of the MTHJA member.
  • If a name change occurs for a horse it is the member’s responsibility to inform the Points Secretary of the name change.
