CLASSICS, GRAND PRIX'S AND DERBIES
ARE DOUBLE POINTS

(WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LOCAL DOUBLE PT SHOWS WHERE CLASSICS/DERBIES
WILL BE 1.5 PTS)

MODEL CLASSES ARE HALF POINTS
  • The MTHJA membership year begins December 1 and ends November 30. Points for year-end HIgh Score Awards will be awarded by the Associaton to equitation riders and horses and ponies owned by individuals or entities who have paid MTHJA memberships. Points are not awarded retroactively. No credit shall be given for any points earned prior to becoming a member each year.
  • Horse recordings are required.  In order for a horse or pony to be eligible for HIgh Score Awards, at least one owner must have a current MTHJA membership and have paid the annual or life membership fee for the horse/pony. In the event of transfer of ownership of a horse or pony, the MTHJA Points Secretary must be notified immediatley in writing of such transfer, and the new owner must be a paid MTHJA member in order for point tabulation to continue.
  •  In Hunter and Jumper divisions, it is the horse/pony that accumulates points.  Membership is required for the owner or lessee of all horses and a horse membership to be eligible for points toward year-end awards.
  • In Equitation divisions, it is the rider who accumulates points . Membership is required for the rider only to be eligible for annual awards.
  • The MTHJA will recognize like-named divisions from other horse show associations where the jump heights do not differ by more than 3"and class requirements are the same.
  •  No points will be counted in a Hunter/Jumper Division if fewer than three entries have shown in the first class ove fences. In order to maintian points and ribbons won in Under Saddle classes, a horse or pony must complete at least one class over fences in the division.
  • No points will be counted in an Equitation or Medal class if few than three entries have shown.
  • In order for points to count, the horse must be entered and shown under the name of the MTHJA member.
  • If a name change occurs for a horse it is the member’s responsibility to inform the Points Secretary of the name change.
  • Points are final on December 15 (should the 15th fall on a weekend, the deadline will be set for the following Monday) following each competition year.
  • Any participant wishing to dispute a tabulation or qualification or disqualification must appeal the issue in writing specifying the reasons for disputing the tabulation or qualification or disqualification.  The Dispute must be received by the the Point Secretary by December 15 (should the 15th fall on a weekend the deadline will be set for the following Monday) following the competition year in question.
  • Although the MTHJA and the Point Secretary uses its best efforts to insure that the points as recorded by the MTHJA on its web site and elsewhere are accurate, the MTHJA and the Point Secretary assumes no liability to anyone for any errors or omissions whatsover.
